As much as it seems pretty harsh on Scoble, its 100% true. I don’t understand why people give any attention to people like Scoble. They claim to be great experts and shout from top of the roof top if they find an issue. Great example is the recent HP controversy. The description of HP President as ‘cancer’ (although he apologized later) was frankly disgusting. What sad was she had been earlier affected by cancer. Without knowing anything concrete and just skimming through details and jumping to conclusions is scoble forte.

Robert — anyone who actually has spent time reading Chuq’s blog (as opposed to skimming it for convenient quote-y bits) could tell you that he hardly claims perfection.
The point is that anything other than a cursory read would have clued you in that he was no longer an Apple employee. Here’s a tip — cut those 3000 blogs or whatever you claim to follow in half, or mabye by 7/8ths, and spend some time thinking and digesting instead of madly hammering the post button all day.

This reminds me of the time Arrington was reviewing something and claimed it was all AJAX when in reality it was just a Java applet. People need to do a bit of digging and less hurrying to beat the crowd when posting articles.

Chuq, I think you know as well as I do that there’s no such thing as an “A-list blogger”. Scoble got a certain amount of attention for a while because he positioned himself as the Voice of Microsoft, but anyone who ever wanted the straight dope on that company read Mini-Microsoft instead.
It’s like what they used to say about how winning an argument on USENET is like winning in the special Olympics.
