MercuryNews.com | 01/11/2007 | Killion: Grier gives Sharks some grit:
Grier may be the most important change on the Sharks from the team that skated backward to four losses in a row to Edmonton in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The overwhelming consensus after that demoralizing series was that the Sharks needed a lot more of that all-important hockey ingredient: grit.
Enter Grier.
Grier is a 10-year veteran who has added presence and leadership on the ice and in the locker room.
I’ve been watching Grier play since we first saw him in college. When I heard the Sharks signed him I knew this was going to be a good season. he’s one of those people that do all the important little things, brings a top attitude, and simply doesn’t tolerate not winning.
I LOVE him on Thornton’s line, as the mucker. It just works.
