Ducks destroy Senators to win Stanley Cup:

The very season that the Anaheim Ducks removed the “Mighty” from their nickname, they proved to be the mightiest team of all.

The Ducks won the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history, by virtue of a 6-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators in Game 5 of the championship final before a frenzied sellout crowd at the Honda Center on Wednesday.

And congrats to the Ducks for getting it done, and done with authority. Clearly, the team that was better throughout the playoffs and thereofre more worthy, won.

The Senators made it a close second, but second is not what they’ll be happy with, at least for a while. But for those looking to rip the Senators for not winning, remmeber, 28 teams were playing golf already…
