San Jose Mercury News – Sharks turn it around, top Wild:
It had been a bad 72 hours for the Sharks.
There was that embarrassing 7-1 loss to Buffalo on Saturday night that everyone was trying to forget. Then early Tuesday, the team announced forwards Jonathan Cheechoo and Jeremy Roenick were going on the injured reserve list and would miss this week’s games at the very least.
Tuesday night, things got a lot better.
And for the first time in a while, the Sharks played smart hockey, intense hockey, and 60 minutes of hockey — at home. And here’s hoping it’s the first of many. For all my commentary on people over-reacting to “how bad the Sharks are” (just look at the standings), boy howdy, they’ve tossed some corkers at home this year.
Patrick Marleau even showed up. Maybe the kid’s sleeping through the night now or something.
