Quick Sharks question

Here’s a quick thought for people to chew on and discuss.

Right now, the Ducks/Detroit series has (at least to me) some interesting similarities to the Sharks/Ducks series; Detroit outshooting Anaheim but behind in the series, and Babcock saying things that sound a lot like what McClellan said.

If — and I’m not saying this will happen — the Wings go on to lose in a way that looks similar to the way the Sharks lost, does that reduce the “these guys are losers” feeling I hear among some parts of sharks fandom? If they take out the Wings as well, doesn’t that make this more about what the Ducks CAN do and not what the Sharks didn’t?

I was impressed as hell with Detroit last night. They really do seem to have that “next level” they can switch on when they need to. Anaheim seems to be in trouble right now, but we'll see.

It didn't seem to me like HIller had an off game as much as they're figuring him out. That's probably bad for Anaheim.

I noted tha tthe wings have Babcock and a deep collection of forwards, thus I predicted the Ducks had peaked after game 4 and posted this one:

“Game 4 will be must see hockey, Babcock certainly will have answers for Carlyle and some twists to throw at Hiller.
Babcock can flat out coach period. I loved his comments regarding the horrible early whistle, got jobed
but will put it aside and focus on game 4. Nice Meanwhile my favorite coach hits the ice tonight back east. Gotta love
ole Bruce Boudreau. A big ole teddy bear of a coach”

Babcock fell behind early and then mixed his lines putting Franzen with Hossa, after each had potted 2 goals Hiller was pulled and the series now turned toward the Stanley cup champs again. Tip O cap to Babcock here for sure, unlike rookie Toddie Mac he had ANSWERS in game 4.

It seems to me that it was the two poor games (4/6) that have the fans upset. If we had lost in 7 games with a good effort all around, it would have been disappointing but not so damn aggravating.

Look at the Canucks – Hawks series. One of these teams is going to lose, but whichever one does lose will have gone down with a damn good fight.

It gives more creedence to Hiller being hot (and he is), but no, it doesn't really take away from the Sharks the fact that they did not all play to the best of their abilities.

I can't answer about the Sharks, but as a fan of a team that went down to the Ducks in the Conference Semifinals in 2006/2007: It doesn't help much. Maybe just a little, but not enough.
